“The striking thing about UWC is that they embrace the entire world across all divides of race, history, culture, wealth, religion, economic status and political belief: they are unique and they are conscious of their responsibilities.” Nelson Mandela, Honorary President

The United World Colleges is represented by volunteer National Committees in more than 120 countries. These committees are responsible for promoting, encouraging, supporting applications and selecting students based on merit and potential to represent their countries at the UWC colleges, and some National Committees also support the Colleges’ efforts to raise scholarship funds.

The UWC Indonesia National Committee’s members include the UWC graduates, educationists, and other interested supporters of UWCs. We have recruited students from all over Indonesia to study at the United World Colleges worldwide since 2004.

Every year we recruit students from different regions in Indonesia. From 2009 to 2012, we opened the opportunities to apply for UWC placements and scholarships to major cities in Java and Sumatera only. This is largely due to a financial limitation of The UWC Indonesia National Committee to either sponsor students from other regions or to conduct a selection process (including home visits) of students from other islands.

In 2013, The UWC Indonesia National Committee will open the opportunities to the students from all over Indonesia. The recruitment process will be held in Jakarta where the UWC Indonesia National Committee is based.

The UWC Indonesia National Committee for the past 5 years have also assisted UWC South East Asia (UWC SEA) to annually select 1 or 2 Indonesian students to study at UWC SEA Singapore from Nangroe Aceh Darussalam funded by Trafigura Foundation.

If you are an Indonesian student, 2nd year of High School or SMA, planning to apply to any United World College across the world, you need to apply through the UWC Indonesia National Committee.

For the UWC SEA special scholarship, the applicant should be about to complete the 1st year of High School or SMA when the application is submitted.
